“Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus,
will personally RESTORE, ESTABLISH, STRENGTHEN, & SUPPORT you
after you have suffered a little while.”

~I Peter 5:10

Beach or Lake?

Personally, I prefer a beach vacation! There is just something about soaking up some Vitamin D while relaxing to the sound of the waves crashing along the shore that is therapy to my soul like nothing else. However, early in the summer I asked my kids, “Beach or lake this year for vacation?” Two out of three kids voted for the lake, so the lake it was. Unfortnately, on day two of our lake vacation I found myself in the emergency room with one of my children with a nasty cut that appeared to need stitches. Needless to say, this momma was not very happy! As my child was being carted in a wheelchair from registration to the emergency room I asked the nurses, “Is this stitch worthy?”

Have you ever been in a season of life where you look to Jesus and cry out, “this hurt is in need of a STITCH FIX!”

There is an online clothing company that is a personal styling service. Their styling experts send you pieces of clothing based on answers from a quiz you complete that defines your unique style, fit, and preferences.  While it may be advantageous to have a personal styling expert, I am grateful that I do not have to complete a quiz for my Good Father to meet my own set of unique needs and soothe my hurts.

I have a best friend in Jesus that hurts when I hurt and is an expert at stitching me up perfectly. We all have trials and difficulties in life that require a stitch fix at times, but the situations and circumstances surrounding the hurts are unique to each of us. We may be suffering from health issues, financial instability, damage caused by a torn relationship, or simply the the daily pressures of life that feel too overwhelming.

Whatever your “stitch fix” need is, Jesus is PERSONALLY available to you and your unique hurts and difficulties.

He will:
RESTORE ~ Jesus will bring back the joy of His salvation to us and give us a willingness to continue trusting in Him. “Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and give me a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12
ESTABLISH ~ Jesus will set up our faith on a firm and permanent basis even in the midst of uncertainty and trials. “Therefore, as you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, walk in Him, rooted & built up in Him & established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with gratitude.” Col. 2:7
STRENGTHEN ~ Jesus will enable & encourage us to be vigorous & effective when we feel insecure. “I am able to do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13
SUPPORT ~ Jesus bears the weight of all our anxieties and holds us up during distressing times. “He reached down from heaven & took hold of me; He pulled me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my distress, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out to a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted me.” II Samuel 22:17~20

May Jesus personally be your “stitch fix” today.

Fashioned for This,
