HUMBLE BEGINNINGS…

Jeff and Candy Williams launched Southside Church February 5, 2006 in the gymnasium of South Jackson Elementary School with 282 people. There were 19 salvation decisions that day! it was a powerful start to a God-size dream. From the humble beginnings of a mobile set up in an elementary school to the thrills of a permanent location right across the street just three years later, God has been faithful. As irony would have it, in 2015 God returned us to our roots as Southside Church was able to acquire the newly-vacated South Jackson Elementary School campus where it all started!

Today, Southside Church continues to see people’s lives powerfully transformed by Jesus. Whether visiting our originating Redstone campus, located on the south-corner of Jackson County, or our Commerce campus launched in 2020 at Banks Crossing, we know God will meet you right where you are. Southside exists to build real followers of Jesus and we believe that God is indeed changing people’s lives through the ministries here. We invite you to come and see for yourself what makes this place so real.

At Southside we believe that your faith journey is a life-long pursuit of Jesus. While that can seem overwhelming, our strategy for tangibly living out this pursuit can be seen through our Discipleship Pathway.
